Your Story, Your Brand

Happy Monday ya’ll! To all the mothers, I hope you had a great mother’s day celebration and to everyone I hope it was a relaxing one.

This week’s entry will be about branding and why it’s important. We have read and heard about personal branding in different publications and may have attended a conference or two regarding this topic, so this may not be new to you. Regardless of your opinion of personal branding, it is important to know that we all have one and the real question is: what kind of brand do we have? Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon stated that “Branding is what people say about you when you’re not in the room.”

Personal branding goes beyond the workplace. With the power of social media people are privy to both our professional and personal life, so whatever we put on social media becomes public knowledge. Some look at social media as a curse but if we embrace its beauty and see how it can be used to inspire others, you will see it at as a blessing.

To be clear personal branding is not a persona, it is who you are. It’s your story, your expertise, and what you want to bring to the world. The following are some beautiful quotes from successful personalities about personal branding.

As we take a closer look at personal branding we will realize that it is not about us. Our brand is to benefit the people we will work for and partner with. It’s our service to mankind, it’s the legacy that we will leave for the next generation. It is the story that our children will share to others.

So…what’s your story? What’s your brand?

Thank you for visiting and have a great week!

xoxo
